Howl's Island is a complete, isolated ecosystem. Its exact location is a mystery. Leaving is believed to be impossible, but as the island provides everything its inhabitants could want, no one has really ever tried. For so long it was considered a paradise untouched by the rest of the world.
The greatest difference between Howl's Island and the lands you know yourself is that life here is not governed by the mere laws of nature you've learned in biology class. Life on Howl's Island follows the peculiar ways of magic and mystery. Animals here are not born, but created from stones infused with the very lifeforce of the earth. A lifeforce so strong that it influences all aspects of the island's ecology, from the plants to the animals to the very land itself.
One being who walks the island goes by the name of Howl. The other Islanders call him a god, for he has powers that surpass any known being on the island and he cares for one and all as if they are his children. Some say he created the Island himself, or his Creator did. Or that he is his own Creator.

But Howl's Island does have a problem. That problem is that the creatures who call this place home have been disappearing. The island grows more silent and lifeless with each passing day.
No magic or mystery on any world can work without a guiding force, and Howl's Island is just the same. The magic of the island reaches out to our world, to the minds of the people here, for guidance. Our imagination and emotions fuel the island's lifeforce and shape its contents in all forms. But for some reason (perhaps the silencing of our imaginations in the present day), the magic has been left to stagnate. Our thoughts have not reached Howl's Island, and its people suffer the consequences.
In desperation, before his people disappear completely, Howl has reached out beyond his island's circumference for aid. That aid is you, the Creators, who can bring life to Howl's Island once again with the power of your mind and heart.
You are the last hope.
